Sharh Umdatul Ahkaam min Kalam Khayr al-Anaam is compiled by Imaam, Abu Muhammad 'Abdul-Ghanee bin 'Abdul-Waahid bin 'Aalee ibn Suroor al-Jamma'ili al-Maqdisi ad- Dimashqi. Jamaa'ili in relation to Jamma'il, which is a village in the mountains of Nablus from the land of Palestine. al-Maqdisi – the one who lived in al-Quds (Jerusalem), ad Dimashqi – then Damascus. explained by ash-Shaykh Saalih bin Fawzaan 'Abdullaah al-Fawzaan. The book, “Umdatul-Ahkaam”, is compiled by Ahadeeth from the two Shaheehs of Imaam Bukhaaree and Imaam Muslim only. The majority of the Ahadeeth in “Umdatul Ahkaam” are Muttafaqoon ‘alayh (agreed upon): meaning that they are recorded by both Imaam al-Bukhari and Muslim. There are very few Ahadeeth in this book which are only reported by Imaam al-Bukhaari or only by Imaam Muslim. Therefore, all the Ahadeeth of “Umdatul Ahkaam” are authentic Ahadeeth.The book, “Umdatul Ahkaam”, is also assigned in Saudi Arabia as a course of hadeeth for the first class in the intermediate school. ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan has written a brief commentary on the narrations that are very beneficial for the seeker of knowledge. Printed in two nice size volumes on yellow paper. 1st Volume consist of 783 pages and the 2nd Volume 863 pages.
